Day 17 Rome-ing all over

Today we took in Rome. Several weeks ago we got tickets to the Coliseum for 8.30 am as that was the one sight we knew we wanted to see and we didn’t want to do it in the heat of the day. There are all kinds of different access option but the general admission gave us all we really needed. We arrived via bus at 8 am, but in the Rick Steves Audio Europe and enjoyed the details he gave us while we got through the entrance and wound our way through the excellent museum and the views around that the stadium.  

A walk around the area, saw some of the Roman forum and by noon headed back to the apartment to get out of the heat of the day and picked up some pizza on the way back. 

Dinner for the evening and then a walk to around Roma in the evening air where we took in more sights and the Pantheon (which means Many Deities as Romans accepts all kinds gods and religions until, we’ll, they didn’t)
