Day 22 Schnitzel lullaby

A super breakfast included with the room and the taxi picked us up at 8.45. It’s a long road walk from here to where the trail heads back in to the mountains, and we couldn’t manage to find accommodations that worked with that. So we had the taxi drop us off at Gramai Alm where the road stops and the trail heads back in to the mountains. 

Another shorter day, we made excellent time up the steep climb, enjoyed the view and numerous waterfalls, and before we knew it we were at the first hut. A refreshing Schiwasser for everyone and then off to finish the up with amazing views of the huge mountains all around us.

A steep down rewarded is with the 2nd hut of the day where we ordered our lunch of schnitzel and potatoe salad. So good!

After a long rest we headed off to finish the down in to Eng Alm, a very small village with a restaurant, the largest dairy collective in Austria and very expensive bunk rooms! But it fits our itinerary so we are happy to have it!
