A really great stay with a precisely run hotel last night. Everything was perfectly maintained and very reasonable priced. And a super breakfast included.

The proprietor gave us suggestions on which trails to take to our destination and we were very thankful to be able to stay off the gravel roads and on single track for more than ½ the hike. Andrew and Crys took a side trip to a waterfall and then when there was a choice between following the river or getting back on the road, Sara wanted to go the shorter road walk so we split up. Reports from the river made me sad we didn’t make the other decision but Sara and I did have fun feeding bugs to the 100s of funnel spiders along the banks of the road.

We arrived at the private Möslalm hut by noon with another shorter day today and had a very good lunch followed by reading and napping in the shade until we could get in to the bunk room. And surprisingly there is also a shower here, so we also cleaned up and then played card while enjoying the important Sunday afternoon Küchen. We played cards while watching the young girl (10-12 years old) do her various activities - herding the cows on her motor bike, practicing the accordion (she was really good!), driving someone’s car up and down the road (!!!!), and playing with her chickens which let her pick them up and carry them around. The entire time she was flanked by her best friend Bennie, a herding Shepard dog. It was very entertaining!

Dinner and a fierce round of ‘bugger bridge,’ a card game we learned on the AT. We decided to try some of the schnapps as well, which were actually very tasty!

We were the only guest there this evening, so we had the 12 person bunk room to ourselves and had the window open listening to the cow bells ringing all night long while the grazed through the night.

Möselalm, our home for the night with the cows, the owners and no one else. Amazing place! The next day we go up and over the mountain in the background.
