Day 1 Thursday
This morning we took it slow as we adjusted to the new time. Both the kids were up early but Crys and I were a little slow waking up. A cafe and off to the Uffizi for a lesson in how perspective was developed during the Renaissance with the development of the ‘vanish point’ by Brunelleschi. Along with the evolution came the poignance of the birth of Venus by Botticelli and Caravaggio’s horrific head of Medusa. And so much more it’s hard to name them all. And to pay attention to them all!
After 4 hours we were cooked and ready to cook! We headed to a pasta making class that Crys had arranged where we were taught to make pappardelle pasta and ravioli from scratch. Much easier than I thought! Especially with the helping hand of a bottomless glass of red and our classy David aprons! Then we ate our artistry (although not as nice as Raffaello’s Madonna it tasted a lot better!)
Finally a stroll back to our place and a longer day than we planned with 10 pm bed time! Blessed to have very comfortable weather for walking. Good night!
