Day 16 Wine

The routine is well established. Grab croissants from the every present and close patisserie, find a cafe and get coffee and eat. Today the coffee shop was right at the Chambord chateau. Then some pedal pushing to the next sight or town. Here in these lowlands it seems lunch is usually baguette and a few meats, cheese and fruits enjoyed at a picnic table.

Today we cycled through wine country - Sauvignon and chardonnay dominate the wine lists. Wonderful, chilled on warm evenings. A stop in Ambroise where we are staying in a room in a house that a very sweet old woman runs.

A visit to the castle where Leonardo DeVinci tomb is and some beautiful gardens.

A delightful rest under an amazing tree in deliciously cool grass.
